After four years of, let's put it like this, “filming”, the Grignion de Montfort Society (SGM) obtained the canonical erection of the diocese of Barcelona on December 4, 1984, which approved its statutes. Its headquarters was in the Residence of Our Lady of Victory, which Frs. From the Society of Jesus they have in calle Palau 3 in Barcelona. Its director was Fr. Francisco de Paula Solá S.J. and its Secretary was Mr. Juan Mª Lladó. The SGM continued its enthusiastic and determined activity. Time showed that, for practical and legal reasons, it was convenient to erect a Foundation alongside the Society that would be its legal and economic arm. Thus, in 1997, the Montfort Foundation (FM) was canonically erected, endowed with ecclesiastical personality with civil recognition.

In 2006 the FM headquarters was moved to the current location, Calle Jonqueres, 18, 8º, 2ª, in the city of Barcelona.
